Emotional Freedom Technique

EFT is like an emotional form of acupunture but without the needles. Balancing the body's energy system by tapping with our finger tips on selected meridian points, mainly on the face and body, releasing disruptions in the systems. It is based on the discovery that all negative emotions are caused by a disruption in the body's energy system. This gentle, simple tapping technique frequently provides impressive results.

A Brief History of EFT
Emotional Freedom Techniques or EFT has it's origins way back over 5000 years ago, from the Ancient Chinese. This is where the subtle energies and meridians that travel throughout the body were first mapped. The Eastern healing arts of Acupuncture, Acupressure, Shiatsu Massage and Reflexology, amongst others, were derived from these energy maps.

It was in the early 90's that one of Dr Callahan's former students (founder of TFT Thought Field Therapy), Gary Craig, simplified the complicated TFT algorithms and made the process universally applicable for all mental, emotional and physical issues. Thus EFT was born.

EFT is an alternative method of healing that works when nothing else will. A meridian energy therapy (known as tapping). Developed from acupuncture and kinesiology, EFT works by using powerful energy points on the body. EFT was developed by Gary Craig, http://www.emofree.com,
who on developing this work travelled across the USA and stopped at hospitals where Vietnam veterans were living. These veterans' lives had been ruined by fears and phobias. Gary Craig was able to rapidly help many of them overcome these fears and documented the success of this therapy.

The key principal on which EFT is based is:

"The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system"

EFT helps clients to overcome fears, phobias, anxieties, food cravings and many other issues, rapidly.

How many sessions do I need?
EFT often does the job for you cleanly and thoroughly in one or two sessions ... sometimes achieving noticeable results in a few brief rounds of EFT.

Applying the Technique
EFT is remarkably simple to apply, gentle and non-invasive. Essentially, EFT relieves symptoms by tapping various body points as we tune into or focus on the problem. This tapping balances energy meridians that have become disrupted when we think about or experience an emotionally disturbing circumstance. Once balanced, the upset is usually resolved – the memory stays but the emotional charge is gone. The technique is simple to learn and can usually be taught to clients for their future use.

How does it work?
Through tapping on the various acupuncture points, while concentrating on the problem involved, EFT clears out emotional debris, you may even being to notice how physical ailments start to fade. Headaches, back pains and other discomforts often tend to improve or vanish as emotional issues improve.

Can you apply it to everything physical and emotional issue?
Accordingly, you can apply it to just about everything. That is one of the most astonishing things about it. You use the same basic procedure for your fear of public speaking as you do for improving your golf score.
Possible EFT limitations

EFT is not the perfect answer for all. However, it usually works well and the results are sometimes spectacular. Because of its unique approach, it can work where nothing else does and, to many, it represents a doorway to a new healing.

A small percentage of our population have serious emotional and physical disabilities and thus newcomers to EFT are advised to exercise common sense in this regard. While you can use EFT to generate impressive relief for many people, please consult qualified health practitioners.

Is EFT Invasive?
EFT is usually quite gentle and you can often achieve substantial relief with little or no pain. This is not true for everyone, however. Some people's issues are so intense that the mere mention of them causes emotional or physical pain. Given time, even these may be resolved efficiently with EFT.
